SHIPPING POLICY
Canada Tarps strives to process your orders as soon as possible, with most items shipping within 2-4 business days (Monday through Friday). Canada Tarps makes every effort to ensure the fastest possible delivery. Canada Tarps ships domestically (Canada) only we do not ship internationally, our dropdown menu does not allow you to place an order if shipping outside of Canada (Provinces/Territories only). We may cancel an order and refund the purchase if an item is out of stock or discontinued.
Placing Orders
When placing your order, our systems automatically shops for the best shipping rate within Canada for delivery to your shipping location. Whenever possible we will use parcel carriers. When shipping address is incorrect or undeliverable, or buyer or buyer's designated receiving agent refuse to or is unable to accept Canada Post, Purolator, Canpar, UPS, freight or other shipment packages, shipping fees cannot be refunded. Shipping charges must be paid again to reship orders that were undeliverable.
Canada Tarps reserves the right to change the shipping method from customer selected to a comparable or faster shipping method. In addition, Canada Tarps reserves the right to change shipping method from regular Canada Post, Purolator, Canpar, UPS or other carriers to Freight Shipping for large, heavy, or bulk orders.
Sales Tax
All shipments will be charged GST, PST, RST, QST or HST as required by Provincial law.
Shipping Carrier
Canada Tarps ships using Purolator, Canpar, UPS or other Freight Carriers. On orders weighing over 65 pounds, we reserve the option of freight delivery. When you check out, you choose a specific shipping method. Canada Tarps cannot be responsible for a freight shipment's delivery date, or delivery time frame. There is no guarantee of shipping dates or delivery dates.
Freight Delivery
Freight delivery means your product will be shipped and arrive via a large 28', 40' or 53' truck. Freight delivery is used when the size and/or weight of the product is too large to ship using small package carriers. We may also deliver part of your order by truck due to the characteristics of the product. Freight deliveries are generally made Monday through Friday between 8:00am-5:00pm, unless other arrangements are made between you and the carrier. Freight companies will not dispose of your packaging materials. Please note the street of access must be at least 10 feet wide with an overhead clearance of at least 14 feet. If the street is smaller than this, other arrangements need to be made for delivery, such as picking up at the delivery terminal or using an alternate ship-to address for your delivery. Please note the following:
Your delivery address must be capable of accepting a freight truck;
Someone will need to be present to sign for the delivery;
All charges for any redelivery or refusal of the shipment are the customer's responsibility and will be charged to the customer's original method of payment;
In the unlikely event of any damage or shortage to your order, please note it on the freight bill, accept the delivery then contact our customer service department info@canadatarps.ca to address any issues;
Additional charges may be incurred for multi-truckload deliveries and/or special crate packaging. Any additional charges will be communicated via email;
Some larger orders may require a lift gate truck if a loading dock is not accessible. The added cost is the responsibility of the customer.
Inspect Upon Delivery
The terms and conditions of your purchase require you to inspect the products at the time of delivery before you sign the carrier's delivery receipt. It is your responsibility to check that all items are correct, and all pieces accounted for before you sign. If a product is missing, you may accept the delivered pieces, make a note of the shortage on the delivery receipt, and contact info@canadatarps.ca to locate the missing item(s). If your product is being shipped by LTL or freight, be sure to check the product for any damage or missing items. All discrepancies must be noted on the Bill of Lading and signed by the driver. If there is no notation on the Bill of Lading for damaged or missing items Canada Tarps will not issue credit nor will replacement items be sent out. We are not responsible to accept any damaged or defective products of any kind.
Free Shipping Offer
Canada Tarps offers free shipping on small parcel carrier orders over $59 (before tax) to Canadian locations, on larger orders requiring FTL/LTL freight shipments Canada Tarps reserves the right to refuse the order and will offer a shipping quote before cancelling or shipping each order. These products will be shipped Ground Service within Canada by the carrier of our choice. The free shipping offer is to a customer’s exterior door, or as determined by the carrier’s restrictions. Not included in the free shipping are FTL/LTL freight charges or additional fees, such as limited access, restricted access, lift gate service, holding, sorting, and redelivery charges. Returns of free shipping products will be charged an original shipment charge, (typically averaging 15%-20% of the price of the item), along with the return shipping charge and 25% restocking fee. All shipping fees to return the item, and the original shipping fees, are non-refundable.
Address Correction
Incorrect shipping addresses (wrong house #, wrong postal code, missing apartment #, etc.) will incur a $15.00 charge for each ground package and $25.00 charge for each air package, this includes any correction is made after the package has shipped. Incorrect addresses may also result in delayed delivery. Please double check your shipping address for accuracy. This fee is charged to us for incorrect addresses and will be billed to the credit card your order was placed with. If you feel you have been charged this fee in error, please contact us so we may dispute the fee with the package delivery company. We appreciate your understanding.
Damaged, Lost or Defective Item(s)
You may choose to refuse the delivery if there is unacceptable defect or damage to your product item(s). If you choose to refuse the delivery, you must note any defect or damages on the delivery receipt. Please immediately contact info@canadatarps.ca to notify us of the refusal. If only part of a product item is defective or damaged, you may accept the order only if you record the defect or damages on the carrier's delivery receipt, and immediately contact us. Canada Tarps may, in its sole discretion, be able to replace damaged pieces.
Once you have signed the delivery receipt, including any notation of any defect or damage, make sure to ask the freight carrier for a copy of the delivery receipt. Also, record the freight company's name and trailer number so we may track the order back to our shipper or warehouse. If you discover damages after the delivery is complete, please contact info@canadatarps.ca so that we may resolve the situation as soon as possible. We will ask you to email a picture of the defective item and describe the nature of the defect or damage. If after reviewing the pictures we feel that the merchandise is defective due to manufacturing you, will be asked to package the item back in the original container and wait for a return authorization, we may at our discretion provide a "field destroy" authorization allowing the product to be deposed of locally and we will replace the defective item with new merchandise. All defective merchandise must be reported to info@canadatarps.ca no later than five (5) days following the delivery date. Please do not confuse a defect with shipping damage at the time of delivery.
In cases where a return is authorized, Canada Tarps customer service will issue an authorization return # for the package and inspect the merchandise before replacing the shipment. This is to ensure that the damage was not in any way used, caused by misuse or gross negligence of any kind. If we confirm that the merchandise has been damaged in shipment or is defective as a result of the manufacturing process, then a replacement product authorization will be granted.
Cancel an Order
Due to our large volume of orders, it may be difficult for Canada Tarps to immediately cancel your order. We will accept order cancellations via email to info@canadatarps.ca within 1 to 2 business days of order placement. However, it is not possible to cancel orders after shipment. If you wish to cancel your order prior to delivery, please contact us immediately. In all instances of order cancellation, there will be a $15 order cancellation charge. Orders will be canceled ONLY if items have not been shipped.
